RUDD — Richard H. Leaman, 74, of 703 Floyd St., died Wednesday (Feb. 25, l998) at his home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City.

** Iona Halverson

FOREST CITY — Iona Halverson, 85, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at the Good Samaritan Center, Forest City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the Petersen Lund Funeral Home, 505 N. Clark St., Forest City, with The Rev. Owen Gassadalen of the Miller Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be at Madison Township Cemetery.

There will be no visitation.

Iona was born on March 16, 1912, in Miller.

She is survived by two nieces, Norma Hammond, Leland, and Betty Nelson, Forest City; and two nephews, Alvin Halverson, Garner, and Robert Nelson, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, and twin brothers in infancy.

** William C. Keough

FERTILE — William C. Keough, 78, of Fertile, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 1998) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth Hatland of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, with a flag-folding ceremony conducted by the Mason City Veterans Memorial Association.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral chapel and continue one hour prior to services on Friday.

Memorials may be directed to the William C. Keough Memorial Fund.

William C. Keough was born Aug. 22, 1919, at rural Britt, the son of Thomas William and Loretta (Slickman) Keough.

On Feb. 14, 1954, he married Carol Kloster at Albert Lea, Minn.

He lived in Nora Springs for many years and then in 1983 moved to Fertile. William was known by many people as a very hard working man, whom many admired and respected greatly.

He owned and operated Keough Roofing Service for many years.

William loved working with livestock and especially loved spending time with his grandkids.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Keough, Fertile; five sons, William Keough Jr. and his wife, Cindy, Michigan; David Keough and his wife, Gwen, Fertile; Robert, Roy, and Mark Keough, all of Fertile; two daughters, Linda Heyden and her husband, Paul, Plymouth; and Cheryl Thompson and her husband, Robert, Mason City; 13 grandchildren, Kelly, Melissa, Chris, Jacob, Alysha, Dan, Falon, Samantha, Tyler, Danielle, David Michale, Bobbie Jo and Cathy Jo; two great-grandchildren, Rindy and Dana Paul; three brothers, Tom Keough, Missouri, Joseph Keough, Forest City, and Kenneth Chapman, California; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Morrissey, Illinois; and Mrs. Loretta Long, Thornton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bob Enders, Clifford Keough, James Keough and Carl Chapman.

** Elbert R. Doane

THORNTON — Elbert R. Doane, 80, of Thornton, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at the Good Shepherd Care Center, Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the United Methodist Church, Thornton with the Rev. Jim Gochenouer officiating. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Thornton.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Grarup Funeral Home, Thornton.

Elbert Richard Doane was born on Nov. 19, 1917, at Ainsworth, Neb., to Bert J. and Lillie (Brunner) Doane. He graduated from high school at Bancroft in 1936, and in 1937 the family moved to a farm south of Thornton.

On Feb. 18, 1939, he married Bernice Smith in the Methodist parsonage in Hampton, and they continued farming in the Thornton area.

Elbert enjoyed listening to the radio and loved nature. Traveling and camping in the western half of this country, along with spending the winters in south Texas were highlights of his life.

In his working years he liked the cattle industry and farming. He was a member of Farm Bureau.

Elbert is survived by his wife, Bernice Doane, Thornton; one son, Eldon Doane and his wife, Lavonne, Thornton; one granddaughter Laura Schlichting and her husband Steve, Britt; one brother, A. E. Doane, Thornton; one half sister, Aletha Short, Tulare, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Ruth Doane, Sheffield; and two stepgrandchildren, of Britt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a half sister.

** Russell D. Hershey

HAMPTON — Russell D. Hershey, 64, of Hampton, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, l998) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church, Hampton, with the Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial will be at West Fork Cemetery, rural Sheffield.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton.

Russell was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Bristow.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Hershey, Hampton; four daughters, Cheryl Hershey, LaCrosse, Wis., Sheila Hershey, Evansdale, Rhonda Hershey, Los Angeles, Calif., and Kim Hershey, Hampton; two stepsons, Tom Thompson, Hampton, and Scott Thompson, Urbandale; a brother, Neil Hershey, Mason City; one sister Sharon DeYounge, Hampton; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a sister.

** Dora M. Hartfelder

MASON CITY — Dora M. Hartfelder, 87, of Mason City, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.

Private family services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City. Inurnment will be in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.

Dora M. Hartfelder was born Jan. 16, 1911, at rural Floyd County.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Esser, Mason City, and Bill Hartfelder, Loveland, Colo.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mabel Otto, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

** Herbert Paul Franke

DUMONT — Herbert Paul Franke, 75, of Dumont, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at the Dumont Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Dumont Reformed Church, with the Rev. Carl Gearhart officiating. Interment will be held in the Dumont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont.

Herbert Paul Franke was born May 5, 1922, Pike County, Missouri.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Franke, Dumont; one son, James Franke, Dumont; one brother, Robert Franke, O'Fallon, Mo.; two sisters, Anna Calloway, St. Peters, Mo., and Esther Griffith, Louisiana, Mo.; four grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.

ROCKFORD — Irene M. Sovereign, 86, formerly of Rockford, died Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at the Cresco Care Center, Cresco.

** Harold H. 'Pat' Enabnit

BOULDER, Colo. — Harold H. "Pat" Enabnit, 87, died Sunday (Feb. 15, 1998) at Terrace Heights Care Center, of Boulder, Colo., from complications due to Parkinsons Disease.

He was born Oct. 23, 1910, in Swaledale, Iowa, to Frederick Enabnit and Kathryn Alter Enabnit.

He married Doris Britton on May 29, 1935, in Charles City, Iowa. He worked at Armour Meat Packing Plant in Mason City while living in Clear Lake for many years and before that in construction and as a farmer and a truck driver in Iowa. During World War II, Mr. Enabnit was employed as a guard in an aircraft factory in Kenosha, Wis.

Mr. Enabnit moved to Boulder in 1993 from Ventura, Iowa.

He enjoyed watching football and going fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Doris, now of Boulder, Colo.; a daughter, Marlys Millhiser, of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Olive Welsh, of Clear Lake; and two grandchildren, Jay Millhiser, of Las Vegas, Nev. and Joy Ransom, of Erie, Colo.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, David, Arthur, Elgin, Carrol, Edward, and Fritz Enabnit, all of northern Iowa.

Cremation has occurred. Memorial services will be held in Marble Rock Cemetery at a later date.

** Frances Geraldine Brand

MASON CITY — Frances Geraldine Brand, 92, of Mason City, went to live with the Lord on the evening of Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funerals services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Grace United Methodist Church, 200 14th St. N.W., with the Rev. Herbert G. Schafer and the Rev. Harlan Stenberg officiating. Burial will be at the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the church.

The family of Frances has requested memorials instead of flowers, which will be shared with the Hospice of North Iowa and Grace United Methodist Church, Mason City.

Frances was born April 24, 1905, in Worthington, Minn., the daughter of Ben and Kate (Voss) Voss. She moved to Little Rock, Iowa, when she was seven and later graduated from the Little Rock High School.

She was united in marriage to Lincoln R. Brand on June 15, 1928. They moved to California in 1929 and then moved to Mason City in 1938.

Frances enjoyed fishing, cooking (baking her special "Grandma Cookies") and had a green thumb raising beautiful flowers including an Easter Lily that had five blooms for Christmas.

She was a very active member in the Grace United Methodist Church. She liked to play cards with family and friends. Family get-togethers were a highlight of her life. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Beverly Lattimer and her husband, Don, Mason City; four grandchildren, Geri Lattimer, Elkader; Carol O'Connor and her husband, Don, Mason City; Melanie Reynolds, Mason City; and Bill Lattimer and his wife, Mary, Minneapolis, Minn.; six great-grandchildren, Chad and Heather Tufty (Geri's children); Jerry and Angela Cahalan (Carol's children); Jennifer and Lee Reynolds (Melanie's children); and one great-great-grandchild, Jonathan Cahalan (Angela's son); one brother, Christie Voss and his wife, Mae, Sibley; and one sister, Bert Clark, Seattle, Wash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lincoln; three brothers, Tom, Albert and Ben; five sisters, Kate, Margaret, Marie, Bessie and Wilma; and also four other siblings that died in infancy.

** Margaret F. Carberry

AREDALE — Margaret F. Carberry, 83, of Aredale, died Thursday (Feb. 26, 1998) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Aredale United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kate Bell officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Sietsema Vogel Funeral Home, Dumont.

Margaret F. Carberry was born June 25, 1914, Worth County.

Survivors include her husband, Marion Carberry, Aredale; one son, William Carberry, Aredale; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Kermit Kay, Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and four brothers.

** Amanda B. Larson

LAKE MILLS — Amanda B. Larson, 96, of Lake Mills, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at the Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, N.D.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Scarville, with the Rev. Randy Baldwin officiating. Interment will be in the Immanual Lutheran Cemetery, Scarville.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Mittelstadt Funeral Home, Lake Mills, and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Amanda B. Larson was born Sept. 14, 1901, in Norway Township, Winnebago County.

Survivors include one daughter, Zona Mathison, Moorhead, Minn.; two grandsons; and one sister, Alice Medlang, Buffalo Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters.

** Richard H. Leaman

RUDD — Richard H. Leaman, 74, a resident of 703 Floyd St., Rudd, died Wednesday morning (Feb. 25, 1998) at his home after a short illness with cancer.

Funeral services for Richard Leaman will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rudd United Methodist Church, Rudd, with the Rev. Deborah Stowers and the Rev. Richard Pippert officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Post #449 of Nora Springs.

Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. The visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Richard Hoger Leaman was born June 18, 1923, at Charles City, the son of Earle and Luella (Hoger) Leaman. He was sworn into the Navy in January of 1941.

He and June Stewart were married on July 8, 1945, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

After their marriage they lived in Norfolk, Va., and in Boston, Mass., until his discharge from the Navy. They later lived in the Floyd and Rudd area. Richard was retired in 1983 from the Armour Company after 35 years.

Richard was an active member of the Rudd United Methodist Church, the U.S.S. Menifee Organization and the U.S.S. William R. Rush Organization. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #449 of Nora Springs, the V.F.W. Post #733 of Mason City, the U.S.S. Helena Organization, the Pearl Harbor Survivors Organization and was president of the Iowa Chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Organization for two years.

Richard's hobbies included traveling, camping, woodworking, gardening and birdwatching. He loved being around his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Living family members included his wife, June, of Rudd; two sons, Gerald "Jerry" Leaman and his wife, Linda, of Clear Lake and Richard "Rick" Leaman and his wife, Diane, of Rudd; five daughters, Gloria Darter, of Estacada, Ore., Judy Garl and her husband, Jerry, of Nora Springs, Nancy Walker and her husband, Bill, of Clear Lake, Rita Fuller and her husband, Dennis, of Bismarck, N.D., Peggy Hanson and her husband, Joel, of Osage; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, a twin, Robert Leaman, of Mason City, Dale Leaman, of Garrison, Minn., and Virgil Leaman, of Charles City; two sisters, Allene Corbin and her husband, Lamoine, of Minneapolis, Minn., and June Wentworth and her husband, Dr. L.S., of Rochester, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Leaman, of Rochester, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carlyle Leaman.

Richard will be sadly missed by his family and remembered for the wonderful, loving person he was.

TITONKA — Alvin Honken, 92, of Titonka, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital, Britt.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Good Hope Lutheran Church, Titonka, with the Rev. Merlin Norris officiating. Interment will be in the Good Hope Cemetery, Titonka.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Titonka and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Alvin Honken was born May 6, 1905, at Buffalo Center.

Survivors include two sons, David Honken of Stoddard, Wis., and James Honken of Steamboat Rock; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Honken, Buffalo Center; and one sister, Hazel Peterson, Northwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson and two brothers.

MASON CITY — Timothy Michael Edens, 48, of 1104 S. Virginia Ave., died Wednesday (Feb. 25, 1998) at his home.

MASON CITY — Alice M. Olson, 85, of 934 N. Harrison Ave., died Thursday (Feb. 26, 1998) at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, where other arrangements are incomplete.

** Irene M. Sovereign

ROCKFORD — Funeral services for Irene M. (Baker) Sovereign, 86, formerly of Rockford, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Rockford, with Monsignor Walter Brunkan of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greene officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

The family will greet friends from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the Schumburg Funeral Home, with a 4 p.m. Rosary and a 7 p.m. parish prayer service.

Mrs. Sovereign passed away Tuesday (Feb. 24, 1998) at the Cresco Care Center, Cresco.

Irene was born in Cresco to Joseph and Barbara (Lickteig) Baker on Dec. 22, 1911. She attended and graduated from Assumption High School in 1931.

She married T. Clark Sovereign on Oct. 4, 1932, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cresco, with the Rev. J. P. Wagner officiating. From this union, there were two daughters, Virginia Tobin and Helen Tripp-Halverson.

The couple moved to Rockford in the 1940's when the Standard Oil Company transferred Clark to that area. She became a member of the Holy Name Parish and one of the circles. Irene was an avid gardener of both house and outdoor plants.

Clark died Dec. 25, 1989, and in 1990 Irene moved to the Cresco Care Center.

She is survived by a daughter, Virginia Tobin, of Charles City and her husband, Terry; a son-in-law, Roger Halverson, of Decorah; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Helen Halverson; two brothers, Anthony and Rapheal Baker; two sisters, Eva Reburn; and Anna Grace Lentz; a granddaughter, Mary Ann Tobin; a grandson, Michael Tripp; and a great-grandson, Daniel Tobin.

Memorials may be directed to the Irene Sovereign memorial fund in care of Virginia Tobin, 102 15th Ave., Charles City, Iowa 50616-1507.

** Helen M. Tolliver Leazenby

GREENE — Helen M. Tolliver Leazenby, 83, of Greene, formerly of Mason City, died Thursday (Feb. 26, 1998) at the Liebe Care Center, Greene.

Graveside inurnment services are tentatively scheduled for Monday at Rosehill Cemetery, Greene.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

Arrangements are incomplete at the Reid's Funeral Chapel, Greene.

ST. ANSGAR — Bertha Sophia Ahls, 96, of St. Ansgar, died Friday (Feb. 27, 1998) at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Edward Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church, Milwaukee and Hulin streets, with the Rev. J. Larry Vallery officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., Charles City, with the family receiving friends from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.

Zella Marie Kellogg Messersmith was born Feb. 25, 1899, in rural Charles City.

Survivors include two children, Eugene Messersmith, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Donna Mack, of Garner; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers.

Those considering an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #174 Scholarship Fund.

LATIMER — Wilbert Plagge, 86, of Latimer, died Friday (Feb. 27, 1998) at the Ellsworth Community Hospital, Iowa Falls.

Alice M. Olson was born Oct. 3, 1912, at Steelville, Ill., the daughter of William and Naomi (Wachsnicht) Grefe. The family came to Iowa when Alice was young and she attended and graduated from Manly High School.

Alice was married to Clarence G. Olson on June 21, 1930, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She worked for Younkers for many years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was an active member for many years.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence G. Olson, Mason City; sons, Richard Olson and his wife, Dolores, Mason City, and Roger Olson and his wife, Shirley, of Pella; daughter-in-law, LaVonn "Bonnie" Olson, Mason City; son-in-law, Harold Ditch and his wife, Lois, Mason City; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Robert Grefe, Hampton; and sisters-in-law, Mary Grefe, Manly, and Helen Grefe, Manly; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Alice A. Ditch; son, Clarence J. Olson Jr.; and brothers, Art, Bill and LeRoy Grefe.

** Richard H. Leaman

RUDD — Richard H. Leaman, 74, a resident of 703 Floyd St., Rudd, died Wednesday morning (Feb. 25, 1998) at his home after a short illness with cancer.

Funeral services for Richard Leaman will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rudd United Methodist Church, Rudd, with the Rev. Deborah Stowers and the Rev. Richard Pippert officiating. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Memory Gardens, Charles City. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside by the American Legion Post #449 of Nora Springs.

Visitation was held from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with a 7 p.m. prayer service. The visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church today.

Richard Hoger Leaman was born June 18, 1923, at Charles City, the son of Earle and Luella (Hoger) Leaman. He was sworn into the Navy in January 1941.

He and June Stewart were married on July 8, 1945, at the Little Brown Church at Nashua.

After their marriage, they lived in Norfolk, Va., and in Boston, Mass., until his discharge from the Navy. They later lived in the Floyd and Rudd area. Richard was retired in 1983 from the Armour Company after 35 years.

Richard was an active member of Rudd United Methodist Church, the U.S.S. Menifee Organization and the U.S.S. William R. Rush Organization. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #449 of Nora Springs, the V.F.W. Post #733 of Mason City, the U.S.S. Helena Organization, the Pearl Harbor Survivors Organization and was president of the Iowa Chapter of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Organization for two years.

Richard's hobbies included traveling, camping, woodworking, gardening and birdwatching. He loved being around his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Living family members included his loving wife, June, of Rudd; two sons, Gerald "Jerry" Leaman and his wife, Linda, of Clear Lake, and Richard "Rick" Leaman and his wife, Diane, of Rudd; five daughters, Gloria Darter, of Estacada, Ore., Judy Garl and her husband, Jerry, of Nora Springs, Nancy Walker and her husband, Bill, of Clear Lake, Rita Fuller and her husband, Dennis, of Bismarck, N.D., Peggy Hanson and her husband, Joel, of Osage; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, a twin, Robert Leaman, of Mason City, Dale Leaman, of Garrison, Minn., and Virgil Leaman, of Charles City; two sisters, Allene Corbin and her husband, Lamoine, of Minneapolis, Minn., and June Wentworth and her husband, Dr. L.S., of Rochester, Minn.; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Leaman, of Rochester, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Carlyle Leaman.

Richard will be sadly missed by his family and remembered for the wonderful, loving person he was.

** Ethel V. Freie

HAMPTON — Ethel V. Freie, 87, of Hampton, died Thursday (Feb. 26, 1998) at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, l998, at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Hampton, with Geniveve McGowan officiating. Burial will be at the Hampton Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time on Monday at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home.

Ethel was born Nov. 10, 1910, in rural Franklin County.

She is survived by one daughter, Lois Dohrmann, Clear Lake; one son, Robert Freie, Winter Springs, Fla.; one sister, Evelyn Yocum, Hampton; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and sisters, and one granddaughter.

** Timothy Michael Edens

MASON CITY — Timothy Michael Edens, 48, of 1104 S. Virginia Ave., Mason City, formerly of Dows, died Wednesday (Feb. 25, l998) at his home.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at First Presbyterian Church, Dows.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Hogan Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City.

** LeRoy Eugene Miller

ALLISON — LeRoy Eugene Miller, 68, of Allison, died Thursday (Feb. 26, l998) at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 1998, at St. James Lutheran Church in Allison with the Rev. Jerry Laehn officiating. Burial will be at the Allison Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Allison.

LeRoy was born Feb. 26, 1930, in Grundy County.

He is survived by his wife, Janis Miller, Allison; six sons, Randy Miller, Shee Rock, Rick Miller, Huxley, Russell Miller, rural Allison, Mark Miller, Allison, Ted Miller, Allison, and Tod Miller, Parkersburg; one daughter, Brenda Miller, Waverly; five brothers, Edo Miller, Cornelius Miller, and Larry Miller, all of Allison, Wayne Miller, rural Allison, and Douglas Miller of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Henrietta Klooster, Aplington, Lois Rewarts, Waverly, Dolores Hoodjer, Allison, and Joyce Garner, Waverly; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents and one brother.

** Helen Margaret Tolliver Leazenby

GREENE — Memorial services for Helen Margaret Tolliver Leazenby, 83, of Greene, formerly of 332 25th St. S.W., Mason City, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 2, 1998, at United Methodist Church in New Hartford with the Rev. Charles Layton officiating. Private inurment services will be held at the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Reid’s Funeral Chapel of Greene is in charge of arrangements.

Helen Margaret Downing was born March 11, 1914, in rural Greene, the daughter of John and Edna (Zeller) Downing, and died Thursday (Feb. 26, 1998) at the Liebe Care Center in Greene.

She received her education in the rural Butler County schools and attended Greene High School. On April 8, 1932, she was united in marriage to Edward Tolliver. They made their home in Greene until 1957 when they moved to Mason City. Mr. Tolliver died June 26, 1962.

She was united in marriage to Wayne Leazenby on June 11, 1965, at United Methodist Church in Mason City. Mr. Leazenby died on April 10, l968.

Helen continued to make her home in Mason City where she was employed by St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. She retired in 1976.

Helen enjoyed visiting with family and friends and had the special talent of playing the piano by ear. She also enjoyed playing bingo as a pastime.

She was a member of United Methodist Church in Mason City.

Living family members include her daughter, Portia, and her husband, Jack Fish, of New Hartford; three granddaughters, Raelynn and her husband, Chris Bowcock, Palm City, Fla., Kathy Diamond, Ackley, Michelle and her husband, Rick Skrukrud, Rochester, Minn.; and one great grandson, Nathan Diamond.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one daughter, Donna Blanchard, in 1994; and one sister, Ruth Jewell.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Helen Tolliver Leazenby Memorial Fund in care of the family.
